What I Wore on Instagram

WhatIWore: Quick post for me today guys! Felix just had his one year check up and shots so I’m staying home to cuddle and play. This is what I wore yesterday for a morning at the coffee shop (slash my office away from home). It’s hot in the afternoon, but when I leave it’s in the mid sixties so jeans feel ok. I also really like this blouse and the texture of the fabric. Feels like silk but it’s not, so I don’t worry about grimy baby hands. Win win!

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes to Felix over the past few days! I may have never met most of you, but I certainly feel your friendship and that means a lot to me.

What I Wore on Instagram

WhatiWore: On my walk to talk these photos, I was trying to think up how to say “it’s the end of the season! I’ve remixed to my heart’s content!”  I’m ok wearing the same outfits over and over again. In the “real world” this is how most people get dressed, but I also kind of feel like as a person who runs a fashion blog I have to try harder or be more creative. I mean, that’s how I feel half of the time, or a fraction of the time actually, because what I’m trying to share is what a real person wears to do real things.

So anyway. I just caught my reflection and I thought, screw it! I like this dress! A lot! I’ve worn it tons of times and there’s no link to something similar and who cares! It doesn’t all have to be a show! It really can just be what I wear that makes me feel good or works when I’m running errands or around the house with a baby. And it can be new clothes some days too. It can be both! I’ve been getting closer and closer to this but it’s my goal to continue to march to my own drumbeat even more.

When: August 11, 2015

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’ in Crazy Tort
Dress: Vintage
Jacket: Mavi
Bag: Frye
Sandals: Clark’s, gift

Where: Family walk to the park, Coffee Date

This dress has to be one of my closet all stars. It works year round - alone in the summer or layered with tights and boots for colder temps. It’s also great for nursing, although as we add more and more meals of solid food, I’m able to go longer periods between breastfeeding - which is great!

WhatIWore: This. Dress. Is. The. Best! I don’t think I’ve felt more beautiful in anything in a long time! My initial draw to it was the V cut on the back of the dress (I was looking for pieces to show off my bee). When I tried it on, I thought it might be a little more darling (and a little less daring) if I added a lace knit cami underneath which unfortunately covered up the back too. No matter, it’s still a beaut! I just love the cut and the fabric and the skirt and the color and… everything! Wouldn’t this make for a beautiful bridesmaid dress she could actually wear later?

When: July 30, 2015

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’ in Crazy Tort
Dress: ModCloth
Cami: Target
Shoes: Marshall’s (old)

A quick note on the color of the dress. While it reads a deep cobalt in these photos, to the naked eye it’s much more navy!

WhatIWore: I recently read something cool - classic Breton shirts have twenty one stripes to represent Napoleon’s victories against the British. I double counted and oui! this shirt fits the bill!

Something else I noticed just as Adam began snapping today’s outfit photos…

I’ve been wearing versions of this outfit a lot lately. At the lake last weekend I wore the same tee (seen here) and jean shorts every day. Last weekend, it was an older striped tee and mom wide leg jeans and the same hat-skirt-sandals-adorable baby in my arms-combo a couple weeks before that.  Ya know what they say #ifitaintbroken….
