WhatIWore: Good morning all! Hope you are doing well… and I really mean that. I feel a lot better emotionally than I did a week ago, but unfortunately came down with a cold this week! All I want to do is wrap myself in a giant fluffy blanket and binge watch a period drama. Adam and I are watching ‘The Crown’ together, but if you have any recommendations of other dramas set in the past, I’m all ears! I fear I might have seen them all, but we have Netflix and Prime, so, lemme know, k?
Alright, so even though I’m not feeling 100%, I’m still functioning and leaving the house and I want to squeeze in outfit photos whenever I’m up for it. My goal is to continue with OOTD until Christmas unless the baby makes an early arrival before then. Then maybe (just maybe) I’m going to do photos once and a while post partum. We will see!!
I’ve worn this dress a couple times already (see below), so this time I wanted to style it a little bit differently. It’s still my favorite maternity dress and I hope it fits for the holidays! In fact, the way the seams line up might make it possible for me to alter and wear for years to come!
When: November 16, 2016
What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’
Necklace: Madewell, sold out, similiar here
Dress: gift of Séraphine
Boots: Clarks
Where: Coffee Shop
See Also: This dress worn with neutral over the knee boots and again with a camel cape.
WhatIWore: Here’s what I wore over the weekend for a wedding! To give you some contrast, this is what the dress looked like before my waist started to expand last fall. The stretch of the fabric (and a hiked up waist) worked so well with my baby bump! And it was comfortable and I felt good about myself! Like last time, I also layered the dress over a lace trim camisole to give it a bit more coverage and a tad more modest than without it.
I always seem to use the same clutch for weddings. It’s like a little transistor radio from kate spade new york that I bought during one of their sales a few years ago. A quirky little bag can make for a nice conversation piece and looks good with a black or navy dress! This ship is cute and so is this little parrot or seahorse!! KSNY does flash sales over email so if you’re on the lookout for something like this, that’s a good place to get the best price.
When: July 31, 2016
What:
Earrings: J.Crew
Cami: Target
Dress: ModCloth (see more navy options below)
Bag: kate spade new york
Shoes: gift of Rockport from last spring
Where: Chris and Baylee’s wedding!
WhatIWore: One of the things that’s important to me on the blog is to share the kinds of things I really wear on any given day. I’ve hinted at some of my frustrations lately and one of them is the unending cycle of buy buy buy that seems to been required to keep up a fashion blog. And I’m not slamming shopping. I like shopping! But I do not like the idea of disposable clothing or only wearing something once. I wear my clothes often, especially if I really like something. I hope you feel like you can repeat (and repeat and repeat) the pieces in your closet that make you feel good, regardless if they’re this season or ten seasons old.
Take this dress for example! I bought it (with the matching jacket!) last fall and I’ve worn both pieces quite a bit. It layers nicely with a jacket or tights, but is a cute sundress with flat sandals and a hat too! Click below to see the other ways I’ve styled it!
