WhatIWore: I feel like most of my wardrobe choices lately have gone in the way of neutrals but on a rainy day like today, I need something merry and bright to cheer me up! This is another sweater I scored at Old Navy when I was working on this post and I just love the colors and the supersized fair isle design. Some day I’m going to attempt to knit my own similar version (most likely in a thicker worsted weight wool) but for now, I’m happy with this cutie.

When: December 1, 2015

What:
Hat: Self Made (see more of my handmade knits at Stars + Field)
Lipstick: Illa in Wild Child
Sweater: Old Navy, via giftcard
Handbag: Kate Spade New York, gift

WhatIWore: I recently read something cool - classic Breton shirts have twenty one stripes to represent Napoleon’s victories against the British. I double counted and oui! this shirt fits the bill!

Something else I noticed just as Adam began snapping today’s outfit photos…

I’ve been wearing versions of this outfit a lot lately. At the lake last weekend I wore the same tee (seen here) and jean shorts every day. Last weekend, it was an older striped tee and mom wide leg jeans and the same hat-skirt-sandals-adorable baby in my arms-combo a couple weeks before that.  Ya know what they say #ifitaintbroken….

When: July 7, 2015

What:
Hat: Handcrafted by yours truly!
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’ in Crazy Tort
Tee: J.Crew (sold out)
Skirt: Target (similar here)
Sandals: Clark’s, gift (kinda similar)
Backpack: Vera Bradley, gift

What I Wore | Nature Made

Styling a Jumpsuit

WhatIWore: There’s something about being immersed within nature that feels so timeless. Whether it’s hearing the ocean waves or being in the middle of a forrest, it’s as if you could be at the beginning or end of time. It either sparks me into a creative brainstorm or calms my mind almost to a stop. Maybe it’s the fresh air or maybe it’s just being in a new place, but I love it.

When: March 11, 2015

What:
Hat: Self Made (similar)
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’
Jumpsuit: Velvet by Graham and Spencer via Anthropologie
Shoes: DSW (last year)

Where: At the beach house, out for lunch

Why: This week Felix and I are visiting my sister in Alabama. We’re staying at her husband’s family beach house and it’s so remote and charming. As I type this I have the front door open and can hear the waves hit the beach and a wind chime playing on the porch. It’s thick and humid and our hair is curling up but it really beats the bitter cold and snow we’ve had in Indiana the past month!

Our trip was also a nice excuse for some spring shopping and I was most excited to wear this jump suit. The wrap front has a little snap and it’s perfect for nursing moms. I’ve styled it with nude leather sandals and my favorite hat and as I mentioned in my closet post, I can see myself wearing this a lot over the coming months with flats for daytime errands, walks or outside at the park.  I’m really into indigo prints this season and they style well with so many other colors (kind of like a pair of jeans!)

WhatIWore: I’ve been anxiously awaiting this sweater’s arrival since I placed the order last week - and I knew exactly how I wanted to style it! I feel so… cool? Does it make me uncool to put that into words?

When: January 20, 2015

What:
Hat: Self Made
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’
Sweater: J.Crew
Jeans: J.Crew (same style, no rips and tears)
Booties: L.L. Bean Signature

Where: Coffee Shop

Why: I think the best indicator of my changing style preferences are my pinterest boards. Where I used to be into J.Crew bubble necklaces and colored skinny jeans, I’m now into much more casual, effortless pieces. Maybe that’s where the trends are taking all of us? I still love my pops of color, but I really love this pair of jeans, booties, hats and cozy sweaters this year. And I’m actually motivated to get dressed (pregnancy did not bring out the over achiever in me)!!
