WhatIWore: Happy Monday, all! Well, first things first, let’s chat about my new ‘do! I was 100% sure I was going to say goodbye to the bright blonde, but I was still thinking of an even more dramatic change. I asked on my Instagram stories if I should do bangs and really didn’t think I’d go through with it… until I got so many suggestions pull the trigger. So I did! Ta da!

I’m still rolling with my 70s Art Teacher vibe, but the cut also makes me feel a little indie Parisian, especially with red lipstick. With that in mind, stripes and high waisted jeans were my first outfit choice! The top is old and the jeans haven’t fit since before I had Felix!!

Another note on the jeans - I actually cropped them and put on a new hem as well as taking in the leg below the knee for a more skinny fit (they were the Elizabeth style from imogene + willie). I’ve been wearing them non stop for the past week or so!

When: Sept 9, 2017

What:
Shades: Karen Walker
Lips: MAC in Chili
Tee: J.Crew (old)
Necklace: J.Crew
Jeans: imogene + willie (these look pretty similar and on sale)
Jean Jacket: Old Navy (under $40!)

Where: Brunch at Cardinal Spirits

WhatIWore: When you’ve got nine people staying together, getting out of the house on time is nearly impossible - but, BUT!!! We managed to round up everyone for some family photos AND get to dinner by 5 (because… babies). This is what I wore that night. I knew it would be windy and chilly and the only long pants  had with me that weren’t overly casual were these ecru jeans.

When: March 15, 2017

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’
Blouse: Old Navy
Jeans: J.Crew Factory
Sandals: Clark’s (older style)

Where: Dinner at the Sandbar with the whole crew

I’m not a huge fan of bright white jeans, especially in the winter. Especially during snow storms. But for a tropical climate I think they work year round. This pair is a high rise version from J.Crew factory and it’s not that intense bluish white you see in summer styles (this is called ‘frost wash’). I went up an additional size because I think overly tight white jeans aren’t a great look. Also because I knew I’d be doing my part to eat as many donuts as possible while on vacation (grand tally - 9) Part of me wonders what the hell I was thinking buying them with two messy kids, but I made it home without any stains so I guess that’s a win.

I love this top - I’ve been wearing it for a couple weeks now. It’s great for easy nursing access and the style and color are a great bridge between getting dressed for winter and spring. It also comes as a dress (it’s from Old Navy)

Baby Bea is wearing a romper (which I like to pronounce ‘womper’) that Nana gave to her (from Old Navy) and a headband that matches her MilkMaid swaddler.

WhatIWore: Although it’ll end up being near 80 today, we slept with our windows open and woke up to 60 degrees. I am so desperate to be done with summer clothes - so I got dressed up for fall instead! Later I’ll probably change back into sandals and ditch the jacket (although it’s pretty light weight), but for now, it just feels good to wear dark colors.

When: August 22, 2016

What:
Shades: Prada (majorly discounted at a second hand store)
Jacket: Old Navy
Necklace: ModCloth (old)
Dress: Target
Booties: Rag + Bone

Where: Where ever the day takes us! (library, park, grocery? woo hoo)

Guess what else? I’m halfway through my pregnancy! We found out the baby’s gender last week and will reveal either this week or next!

What I Wore on Instagram

WhatIWore: Finally! A day we’re not being rained out! Not bright and sunny, but whatever - I’ll take it! I’ve been eager to do outfit photos because I’ve recently done a little maternity shopping and here are two of my new pieces - a pop over version of my classic fall chambray and a new pair of maternity jeans. I wish I would have tried on a pair of full panels with my last pregnancy - they are so comfortable!

When: August 16, 2016

What
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’
Top: Liz Lange (Target)
Jeans: AG ‘Stilt’ $20 off, (non maternity here)
Bag: Frye (similar)
Sandals: gift from Clark’s last summer

Where: Appointments and errands

I feel like I have a good chance of wearing both of these pieces through the second half of my pregnancy. The top wasn’t too pricey, but the jeans were an investment (I took all of your advice with me to the dressing room, and these were by far my favorites). I also bought some less expensive pairs (also recommended) so I’ll be able to compare and make my own recommendations later!
