WhatIWore: I did it! I finally finished my fall striped sweater and got to wear it last week. My color palette came from my 70s Art Teacher inspiration boards including black, cream, charcoal, a heathered rusty cinnamon red and a lighter shade of navy. It’s going to look great with denim and black pants and hopefully the rust colored trousers I want to make soon.  I will type up the details for Ravelry when I get a chance!

For this outfit, I wanted to lean a little more modern and slightly Parisian. The hair and red lip achieve the French feel and the white moto jacket keeps the look from being too stuck in the past. I do think it’ll look cute styled in a more seventies way - with with a leather skirt and boots?

WhatIWore: One of the things I look forward to all week is the Saturday morning farmer’s market in town. Our first stop is always Sweet Claire’s and their amazing pastries and then we find a spot in the shade to eat and plan out our shopping. This time of year everything looks so good! Felix has been really into taking photos lately, so I let him take a few snaps here and there (the basket of flowers was his shot!) Nine out of ten are blurry but occasionally he gets something really good.

WhatIWore: Greetings from sunny Southern Indiana. I can’t believe it, but we all slept in until 7:45 this morning when the sun shining through our windows finally woke us up. That just might be a record! So needless to say, we’re all in good moods and currently hanging out on the front porch while I type up this post.

When: June 6, 2017

What:
Hat: Self Made
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper
Blouse: Vintage, thrifted
Belt: Thrifted
Pants: Target
Sandals: Birkenstock

Where: So far just chillen with my kids on the porch (probably Goodwill and craft store later!)

I don’t know if it’s the summertime, the country air, the inspiration of a new house or just spending so much good time with my children, but I have been happier lately than I have in a very long time. I’ve also made a huge shift in the way I see this blog (a money making occupation vs. a fun way to share the thing I love) and that’s been so freeing.

Take this outfit for example - something homemade (my hat), something fancy (my designer sunglasses), something vintage/thrifted (blouse and belt) with something from Target. These are the kinds of outfits that used to excite me so much, and I’m really really happy to wear more of them!

WhatIWore: When you’ve got nine people staying together, getting out of the house on time is nearly impossible - but, BUT!!! We managed to round up everyone for some family photos AND get to dinner by 5 (because… babies). This is what I wore that night. I knew it would be windy and chilly and the only long pants  had with me that weren’t overly casual were these ecru jeans.

When: March 15, 2017

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’
Blouse: Old Navy
Jeans: J.Crew Factory
Sandals: Clark’s (older style)

Where: Dinner at the Sandbar with the whole crew

I’m not a huge fan of bright white jeans, especially in the winter. Especially during snow storms. But for a tropical climate I think they work year round. This pair is a high rise version from J.Crew factory and it’s not that intense bluish white you see in summer styles (this is called ‘frost wash’). I went up an additional size because I think overly tight white jeans aren’t a great look. Also because I knew I’d be doing my part to eat as many donuts as possible while on vacation (grand tally - 9) Part of me wonders what the hell I was thinking buying them with two messy kids, but I made it home without any stains so I guess that’s a win.

I love this top - I’ve been wearing it for a couple weeks now. It’s great for easy nursing access and the style and color are a great bridge between getting dressed for winter and spring. It also comes as a dress (it’s from Old Navy)

Baby Bea is wearing a romper (which I like to pronounce ‘womper’) that Nana gave to her (from Old Navy) and a headband that matches her MilkMaid swaddler.
