WhatIWore: This outfit is the result of my chance at a morning to “get ready” while I had no idea what to wear. I saw this blouse in my hall closet and haven’t worn it in a long time, so I went with an outfit kind of like this. Sometimes I just go for the archives when I don’t feel particularly inspired (see more ideas below!) I’m still loving those $23 Crafted by Lee jeans, but because of the high stretch content I do find myself washing them regularly. But at that price, they’re pretty great (and have the feel of leggings, so I can be on the floor with kids or doing chores or whatever and completely comfortable!

WhatIWore: Guys, I’m still crazy about these jeans! This is what I wore yesterday for an early morning work session and then errands around town with the kids. This is definitely on the short list for my most worn outfit combination - it’s so easy and still feels put together. The lighter chambray helps distance it from a cowboy tuxedo or whatever they’re calling denim on denim these days. I love all of these pieces because they’ll work with everything else in your closet too (see my guide to creating your core closet HERE).

When: Sept 27, 2017

What:
Shades: Karen Walker
Chambray: J.Crew (old)
Jacket: Old Navy (similar)
Jeans: Crafted by Lee
Booties: Clarks (gift from a previous partnership)

Where: Working at the Coffee Shop, ‘round town with my kiddos

If you were thinking about ordering these jeans, I still say go for it! At $24 you can’t lose! A note on sizing - I bought both the dark and light styles, both in a 4L (normal size) and the lighter wash did run smaller. These are only online, so I’d suggest getting two pair in different sizes and returning the ones to your local Target that doesn’t fit. Good luck!

WhatIWore: Dang. I love this outfit. It’s the kind of thing that almost has a thrifted vibe and reminds me so much of my old school days shopping Beacon’s Closet in Brooklyn. And I say thrifted because it feels a little more creative - a little less off the mannequin that the outfits that seem to get pinned or complimented online. And I like that!

This dress is a silhouette Old Navy puts out in different patterns over and over again (case in point - I’ve bought two other prints here and here). I like the white because it’s cute on it’s own but I also kind of like it for fall. It’s not a crisp blueish shade, but it’s not cream either. Just a good milky tone that looks pretty with black (I think it’ll look so cute with tights and a turtleneck too!

The jacket was a splurge I bought during the Nordstrom sale and I foresee myself wearing it many ways over the next ten or twenty years! Now if it would be cool enough I could keep it on all day….

WhatIWore: I finally have my hands on this dress! Between exchanging sizes and shipping to my parent’s house, I finally had a chance to wear it over the weekend. It gives me all the prairie vibes in a good way! (I was alternatively humming Dixie Chicks and Paula Cole while wearing it) There’s so much fabric and it moves so beautifully! I’m excited to layer it with a turtleneck and moto jacket for crisper weather, but on this occasion I just used a skin toned camisole underneath (the neckline is a touch too deep for a larger chest - someone with a more minimal bust might not need anything there). It’s the kind of dress I can see myself getting in multiple colorways, so Free People, if you’re listening, can we do this one in black or navy? Pretty please??
