WhatIWore: Dang. I love this outfit. It’s the kind of thing that almost has a thrifted vibe and reminds me so much of my old school days shopping Beacon’s Closet in Brooklyn. And I say thrifted because it feels a little more creative - a little less off the mannequin that the outfits that seem to get pinned or complimented online. And I like that!

This dress is a silhouette Old Navy puts out in different patterns over and over again (case in point - I’ve bought two other prints here and here). I like the white because it’s cute on it’s own but I also kind of like it for fall. It’s not a crisp blueish shade, but it’s not cream either. Just a good milky tone that looks pretty with black (I think it’ll look so cute with tights and a turtleneck too!

The jacket was a splurge I bought during the Nordstrom sale and I foresee myself wearing it many ways over the next ten or twenty years! Now if it would be cool enough I could keep it on all day….

What I Wore | November Morning

What I Wore on Instagram

WhatIWore: See what I did there? November Morning? Mourning?

I can’t bring myself to say much today, I’m still in a state of shock, so I’m just going to post my outfit. It feels a little like battle gear. Like I’m going to go out there and be the boldest, fiercest and best version of myself today. I won’t carry on like everything is ok or that this is normal, but I will carry on.

On Tuesday I hit my two month count down until my due date! On Wednesday, I heard her heart beat and got a great report from the doctor. I have so much to be hopeful for with my children. As I laid by Felix in bed last night, he sat up and said “Mama’s belly jumps! Baby sister down there!” and then put his cheek to my bump and said “Baby kicks Felix!” I can’t wait to see these two together and add to the enormous amount of love we have in our house.

When: November 10, 2016

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper Strength’
Dress: Monrow, gift of A Pea in the Pod
Jacket: MICHAEL Michael Kors
Boots: Clarks

Where: Coffee Shop

As for my outfit, I’m really loving this knit turtleneck dress (a gift from A Pea in the Pod - thanks guys!)… and I think I’ll be able to wear it in the future too (maybe not while nursing, but I love the fabric and silhouette). By embracing my ever growing body (and wearing form fitting clothes!) I’ve really helped my self esteem out over the past 7 months. It might seem counter intuitive to wear tight dresses when you’re expected, but I love the way it feels!

What I Wore on Instagram

WhatIWore: A few weeks ago I started pinning images of leather moto jackets layered over chunky knits and this morning I finally put together the combo for myself (see my inspiration board here!) To keep bulk down, I chose a sleeveless sweater, but if I’m being completely honest, I don’t have that many sweaters that are long enough to adequately cover the baby bump so this one won out! You can see other ways I’ve worn it at my regular size here and here

On bottom I kept the look a little more edgy (relative to me?) with a ripped and patched pair of maternity jeans and added in a stacked and buckled pair of black boots.

Karen Walker 'Super Duper' in Crazy Tort

WhatIWore: I wasn’t really sure of this outfit when I stepped out the door, but looking at it now - I like it! Weirdly I think what makes it work is how I did my bangs off to the side a bit. Looks a little parisienne, non?

This is the sweater I blogged about a couple of weeks ago. Ever the perfectionist (I’m working on lightening up, promise), I went back and ripped out the hem so I could fix how I binded off (in a rib pattern to provide more stretch). I opted to leave the sleeves intact but to wet them and pop the entire sweater in the dryer. I actually think I could probably try that again with a little higher heat and let it shrink up even more. That said, the fit is still nice if not a little roomy in some places (sleeves, neckline), but that’s alright with me.
