WhatIWore: Here’s what I wore for our last day in Florida. I made the top last year but this year updated the sleeves with some teeny tiny pom pom trim. It seems like tassels and poms are all the rage, so I actually bought a bunch and have plans to sew them to different pieces in my closet to get them a fresh look. I recently saw a similar sewing pattern from McCall and there are similar versions all over (see ‘Shop the Look’ below)

When: March 17, 2017

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’
Blouse: Self Made (similar styles here)
Belt: Vintage (similar vintage styles here)
3.5″ Black Shorts: Old Navy
Sandals: Rockport

Where: Anna Maria Island, FL

A white eyelet top can go with almost any kind of bottom, but I went with black shorts so I could show off this vintage colorful belt. I’m really glad I packed it - especially after I went to the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Dalí museum in St. Pete! I am so inspired by her (I’ve dressed up as her here and here) and I’ve enjoyed reading some of her letters with photographer and lover Nick Muray) in a book I picked up in the gift shop. That  In fact - if anyone has read a good biography of her life and wants to recommend a title - please let me know!

What I Wore on Instagram

WhatIWore: It might not officially be summer yet, but so far, it’s the best one of my life. Why? Because even though my son is a baby, it’s getting us outside, to the playground and the pool, getting bug bites and suntans, and dirty from head to toe. It just feels like summer. I remember getting off the bus in fourth grade on the last day of school and thinking FREEDOM! We are living the good life.

What I Wore | Nature Made

Styling a Jumpsuit

WhatIWore: There’s something about being immersed within nature that feels so timeless. Whether it’s hearing the ocean waves or being in the middle of a forrest, it’s as if you could be at the beginning or end of time. It either sparks me into a creative brainstorm or calms my mind almost to a stop. Maybe it’s the fresh air or maybe it’s just being in a new place, but I love it.

When: March 11, 2015

What:
Hat: Self Made (similar)
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’
Jumpsuit: Velvet by Graham and Spencer via Anthropologie
Shoes: DSW (last year)

Where: At the beach house, out for lunch

Why: This week Felix and I are visiting my sister in Alabama. We’re staying at her husband’s family beach house and it’s so remote and charming. As I type this I have the front door open and can hear the waves hit the beach and a wind chime playing on the porch. It’s thick and humid and our hair is curling up but it really beats the bitter cold and snow we’ve had in Indiana the past month!

Our trip was also a nice excuse for some spring shopping and I was most excited to wear this jump suit. The wrap front has a little snap and it’s perfect for nursing moms. I’ve styled it with nude leather sandals and my favorite hat and as I mentioned in my closet post, I can see myself wearing this a lot over the coming months with flats for daytime errands, walks or outside at the park.  I’m really into indigo prints this season and they style well with so many other colors (kind of like a pair of jeans!)

What I Wore | Saturday

WhatIWore: Jumping in for a very quick post today! Here’s what I wore last Saturday to have breakfast with my boys out (and get that waffle I’d be craving during my Whole30!) and then for errands. This week has been busy. Adam’s been full steam ahead on the Cardinal Spirits (pictured in the background!) opening and Felix and I have been doing little projects to help them out, along with attending their evening events. Between all of that and teaching, it’s been a stretch to get outfit photos into our day! I did buy a couple of new dresses to wear to events, so I hope we’re able to snap photos of those!

When: January 31, 2015

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Northern Lights’
Sweater: J.Crew Factory
Jeans: Guess
Coat: Elie Tahari, gift
Boots: L.L. Bean Signature
