WhatIWore: Two things: a) these pants do not photograph well and b) they’re so comfortable I couldn’t care less.  In a dream world, everything we wear, pregnant or not, would be super flattering to our bodies, but sometimes you have to cut your losses and just wear what makes ya feel good! I don’t want a pity party or anything, I freaking love these pants, but I also realize they make proportions look a little… wide, which is a feat in itself because I never thought anything would look bigger than my bump! Maybe because they are so low rise?

I think a longer jacket could have helped balance things out more and I’ll keep that in mind if I ever wear another pair of printed, loose knit pants. Or perhaps heels? A blousier shirt like shown on the site where I bought them? Live and learn, baby!

When: July 16, 2014

What
Shades: Karen Walker
Necklace: Jess LC
Tank: Target (maternity)
Jean Jacket: Mavi
Pants: ASOS maternity
Bag: Coach
Sandals: Target

Where: Lunch, 3 hours worth of driving, visiting with my gal pal Erin

So when I said I love these pants, I mean I wear them often enough that my parents have seen me in them three times. That’s how many times I’ve been to their house in July and they are sooooo comfortable. Way more comfortable than leggings, which I didn’t know was possible.

What I Wore | Where the Sidewalk Ends

Orange is the new Black, Orange, ASOS, Maternity Style, 31 weeks, Jessica Quirk, @whatiwore

WhatIWore: I was thisclose to calling this post Orange is the New Black, but I’m a firm believer that nothing is the new black. Black is the only black. (On a side note, love the show, zipped through S2 in a week!) See one of my other favorite orange outfits HERE. Also of note, I have my dress on backwards! By accident!

When: July 2, 2014

What:
Shades: Karen Walker
Lipstick: Ilya in Wild Child
Necklace: Jess Lively (similar here)
Dress: ASOS maternity
Belt: UNIQLO (old)
Shoes: Sole Society

Where: Bloggin from the coffee shop, errands

I didn’t realize it was on the wrong way until I looked up the link for it. I know I said a couple of weeks I was winding down on the maternity shopping, but I truly was wearing black knit maxi dresses every day and wanted a couple pops of print and color to get me through the next two months. I love that this dress looks a little thrifted… it’s kind of ugly but at the same time, so pretty too! Unfortunately I don’t seem to have luck with thrifting knit dresses because the texture of the fabric gets pretty nasty after dozens of washings but let’s just pretend I scored this dress on $1 Tuesday (or buy it on sale for yourself here).

Next time I’ll definitely flip it around. The higher neckline has more of a vintage vibe and I think it would look really cute with Heidi braids on a warm day!

What I Wore | Blurred Lines

Third Trimester Style, Pregnancy Style, #maternity, #dressthebump, Maternity Ideas, @whatiwore

WhatIWore: I have a special place in my heart for summer radio songs. When I hear Genie in a Bottle, I’m transported to riding around with my friend Christina the summer after junior year in high school. Call Me MaybeForget You? I’m gonna turn it up. This morning I opened up my August Jams folder in Spotify and Blurred Lines was the first track. I heard it 20 times on my summer trip to Tennessee last year and although by September I was over it, it’s fun to give it another listen and relive those great memories.

When: June 5, 2014, evening

What:
Hat: Self Made (similar here)
Shades: Karen Walker (similar)
Bag: Coach (similar)
Dress: Target
Belt: J.Crew Factory
Shoes: Target

Where: Sidewalk Dinner with Adam

Plus… this dress has it’s own sort of blurred lines in the print. I’m getting into the phase when I’m done maternity shopping and will have to make what I have get me through the summer. Luckily I still have to work my way through my second hand maternity boxes (yay!) but I still like resorting back to comfy knits that I wear all of the time (see how I wore this dress at 23 weeks). Twelve weeks until baby! (give or a take a few!!)

What To Wear When You're Pregnant, 24 weeks, @whatiwore

WhatIWore: Ok, so it’s probably an old fashioned, out dated idea, but I really like it when the hemlines of a dress and coat match. I was pleasantly surprised to see these two working so well together, even though they’re from different stores.

When: May 14, 2014

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Northern Lights’
Dress: ASOS Maternity
Jacket: Target (also worn here)
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
Shoes: BCBG (similar)

Where: Breakfast with girlfriends

So I want to ask you guys - are there any old fashioned sartorial standards that you still live by? Do you match your shoes and handbag? Or your bag to your belt? How about advice you’ve received from your mother or grandmother (even if you don’t use it anymore!) I’d love to hear more on my facebook page.

Psst: More maternity friendly outfits HERE.
