What I Wore | Romper!

WhatIWore: Hey guys! This is what I wore the day of the eclipse. Not necessarily an outfit to write home about, but we all gotta get dressed everyday. I found this romper (which I wore before my pregnancy with Bea was showing last summer) in an unpacked box (there are sooooo many of them!) and was thrilled to find it. I thought this newer necklace had a celestial vibe, so I paired that with the romper (which is nursing friendly but not in a super modest way if you get my drift).

What I Wore | Pumpkin Carving Party

WhatIWore: Happy Monday, y’all! After a long weekend in the woods (without a cell signal or laptop in sight!) I’m happy to be back to blogging. I have loads of photos to edit, so I’m starting the week off with an outfit I wore last night to our friends’ annual pumpkin carving party. We managed to get all of the kiddos into costumes for some part of the night and I’ll show you Felix’s Halloween costume sometime this week!

As for my outfit, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this sweater in the mail. I love how it pairs nicely with a striped turtleneck (I took the poncho/sweater off while I actually scooped and carved my pumpkin). Paired with skinny jeans and boots, it’s the perfect autumn outfit!

What I Wore | Birthday

WhatIWore: Happy Birthday dear Felix! You’re one!! Yesterday we celebrated with our friends and family at our house and it was a wonderful party! (Photos and details to come!) Outfit wise, I went with a combo I’ve already worn and loved (first here). And if you think I’m the kind of mom that wears something to match the decorations so the pictures will be even more coordinated…you’re right. On Felix, we did a simple onesie with an iron on monkey patch to go with his theme. Believe it or not, he wore that hat the entire party and looked so. freaking. cute. toddling around the house in it. He is the light of our lives. We love you Felix boy!

What I Wore | The Other Little Black Dress

WhatIWore: I’m on a roll this week with repeating outfits! I’m really eager to start busting out my fall pieces (including stuff in storage, new things and sewing projects!) and the end of the season is always a little boring for me. Also my closet is such a wreck right now I can barely get in there and find anything. Messy closets = I have nothing to wear. Oh well. 

I’m glad I reached for this printed vintage little black dress again. It’s so easy to throw on, so easy for nursing and it has a little something special about it. I’ve also been really into this belt lately… something I normally wouldn’t get fixed on, but I like it! Not a lot of people think of brown and black working together, but this combo is one of my favorites.

We had such a great day on Saturday. Adam let me sleep in (hallelujah!) and then we all went to the farmer’s market for breakfast. It was such a gorgeous day we decided to pack a picnic and go down to Spring Mill State Park, which is one of my favorites. It has a little historical village with re-enactors doing weaving, gardening and leatherworking and I totally geek out about stuff like that. Everytime we go I think “I wanna be a re-enactor too!!” mainly because I’d love to make myself an 1830s dress and corset. I love playing dress up and I love olden times!
