WhatIWore: Well hello there! I’m back to life after three of the four of us Quirks came down with a virus in the past week. First it was pity for poor little Felix, then it hit me, and before I could really recover, it hit Adam. Baby Bea was spared thank goodness. Anyway, long story short, I had intended to get back into the OOTD game but… Life. Happens.

So after a couple days of being in total yuck mode, I really wanted to freshen up for today’s outfit post. And by fresh I mean a day old shower and some red lipstick I put on specifically for the photos (I wore the tee, scarf and jeans all day).

You might recognize the stripe tee which I wore recently in Florida. These days, a new tee shirt really feels special so, why not wear it again so soon? Since it’s much cooler here, I’ve styled it with a trusty denim jacket and flare jeans and added a new super soft navy bandana (it was only seven bucks!) The one and only benefit from the a bout of sickness is a pair of jeans I couldn’t shimmy into a few weeks ago. They’re still kind of tight in the middle, but I was happy to wear something I have stored away for so long!

WhatIWore: Morning everyone! Here’s what I wore earlier in the week for a coffee shop session and later for errands. I’ll admit I’m rather happy about winding down with the blog for a while - between the post election fall out, the holidays and being closer and closer to my due date, my heart just isn’t as into blogging these days. And that’s ok! I have a goal of shooting another 4-5 outfit posts, plus some inspiration boards, and photos of my daughter’s nursery and then… it’s maternity leave baby! Which all new moms and dads know is more like boot camp than a spa day… but bring it on! I’m ready to meet this little lady!

When I got dressed this morning I thought back to one of my favorite outfits of all time (from three years ago!) and did my best to make it work for pregnancy. This bump feels more like a basketball and even some of my maternity pieces are getting tight!

I don’t wear this coat/jacket often, but it’s a vintage piece I’ll never let go of. The precise matching of the stripes just screams quality - it’s not easy to cut or sew something so geometric!

WhatIWore: Good morning all! Hope you had a nice weekend. I’m throwing things back to last Thursday for today’s post. Here’s what I wore for a quick visit to a branding and marketing class at IU that a friend of mine teaches. I love being on campus and with students! This particular course was in the newly renovated Kirkwood Hall, which is home to the new School of Art + Design. I’ve been hearing about these plans for over a year and it’s really amazing to see everything come together so quickly!

When: October 13, 2016

What:
Shades: Karen Walker
Sweater: ModCloth (last year)
Maternity Dress: JCPenney
Tights: We Love Colors
Bag: J.Crew
Booties: Rag + Bone

Where: On campus visit

I’m all about this type of cozy yet pulled together type of outfit - it’s perfect for a crisp and gray morning. Everything is knit, so it’s got the comfort factor, but it’s not yoga pants, ya know? It’s kind of hard to put into words, but do you ever have those days when the thought of wearing pants feels far too constricting? Even when I’m not pregnant I feel like that some days! PANTS. That’s how I felt the morning I wore this. Also worth mentioning - the dress is navy and gray stripes and I’m wearing it with black tights and boots. I felt the combination of the dress with the bluish toned gray sweater was enough to balance out the tights that don’t necessarily match. I also think this dress will be cute with an olive jacket and booties for a little more of a casual setting!

WhatIWore: Here’s what I wore the other day to my check up with my OB… and we actually took these photos in the parking lot! I’ve been eagerly awaiting some changing leaves so when we saw this bright red tree, we pulled out the camera and started snapping!

Nothing in this outfit is maternity, believe it or not! I bought this skirt a few years ago (here’s how I wore it back then - which is one of my favorite outfits of all time!) and the stretch of the knit (and a partially zipped zipper in back!) turned out to be pretty comfy and accommodated my growing belly.

When: October 11, 2016

What:
Shades: Karen Walker
Necklace: Madewell (on sale!)
Jacket: Old Navy (similar options here)
Tee Shirt: Target
Skirt: ModCloth (older style)
Booties: Rag and Bone

Where: OB apt, coffee shop

See Also: two other ways I’ve worn this jacket - one maternity, one not

As I mentioned last time I posted a doctor’s apt outfit (it’s a thing, I guess?), I like to wear roughly the same thing every time I go in for my appointments - something that weighs about the same and is easy to shimmy down for the doc to listen to my belly.

I cannot believe I’m already at 6 months pregnant!!! These past three months have gone by so fast - probably because I’ve been feeling better than the first pregnancy. I’m working on my second trimester recap and will be posting that next week for anyone who is interested!
