What I Wore on Instagram

WhatIWore: Minus the bright mint dress I wore last weekend, and a few vintage pieces here and there, I’ve been in a neutral mood with my spring closet. But neutral doesn’t have to be boring! I picked up this simple sleeveless black button down at Target over the weekend. It’s one of those silhouette that feels very retro to me - so I styled it with a circle skirt! Accessory wise, I went with brown - a combination I’ve done quite a bit in the past! Overall, I just love this kind of outfit.  In a way, it represents who I used to be and who I’m becoming. I’m not sure I can explain it much more than that, but I’ve definitely felt a shift in personal style, career ambitions and how those interact with motherhood. I just feel different than I did two or three or ten years ago and I can see it reflected in how I dress. All good changes if you ask me!

What I Wore on Instagram

WhatIWore: Happy Monday all! Getting a little bit of a late start today after spending all of yesterday on the lake! Swimming in the sun can really wear ya out! I’ve since changed as the humidity has kicked up, but I couldn’t help wearing a new pair of jeans this morning to run a few errands. I actually recently bought two pair of high rise flares and this is the darker of the two. They’re a really stretchy blend, so not at all uncomfortable like some higher waisted pants can sometimes feel. And hello 70s inspired fringe bag!!

I’d say this kind of outfit is a good representation of how you can incorporate those 1970s touches without being too costumey. The flares aren’t too big and the newer top keeps the whole look pretty modern. That said you probably will see me in full seventies regalia more than a few times in the upcoming months. I love it when I get really into something like this. It makes getting dressed really fun, rather than a chore, which honestly happens to everyone once and a while.

I love the way these jeans look on! I love the flares! I love the high rise! What do you love about your outfit today?
