WhatIWore: See what I did there? November Morning? Mourning?

I can’t bring myself to say much today, I’m still in a state of shock, so I’m just going to post my outfit. It feels a little like battle gear. Like I’m going to go out there and be the boldest, fiercest and best version of myself today. I won’t carry on like everything is ok or that this is normal, but I will carry on.

On Tuesday I hit my two month count down until my due date! On Wednesday, I heard her heart beat and got a great report from the doctor. I have so much to be hopeful for with my children. As I laid by Felix in bed last night, he sat up and said “Mama’s belly jumps! Baby sister down there!” and then put his cheek to my bump and said “Baby kicks Felix!” I can’t wait to see these two together and add to the enormous amount of love we have in our house.

When: November 10, 2016

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper Strength’
Dress: Monrow, gift of A Pea in the Pod
Jacket: MICHAEL Michael Kors
Boots: Clarks

Where: Coffee Shop

As for my outfit, I’m really loving this knit turtleneck dress (a gift from A Pea in the Pod - thanks guys!)… and I think I’ll be able to wear it in the future too (maybe not while nursing, but I love the fabric and silhouette). By embracing my ever growing body (and wearing form fitting clothes!) I’ve really helped my self esteem out over the past 7 months. It might seem counter intuitive to wear tight dresses when you’re expected, but I love the way it feels!

WhatiWore: Morning everyone! It’s another day-of post for me - because I’ve gotta share what I wore to cast my ballot this morning! I would have loved to put on a white pantsuit, but had to make some adjustment as I’m seven months pregnant today!

I chose to wear my ‘The Future is Female’ tee shirt with a vintage red and navy jacket. It’s patriotic and reminds me of all of the women who came before me. Maybe most importantly, it’s a personal symbol representing candidates that fight for and respect women!

To finish it off I tied a vintage scarf to my navy handbag, put on a pair of heels and a pair of jeans.

Here’s what I wore to vote in 2008 and 2012

We had no lines and instead of voting straight ticket, I wanted to fill out each and every box. We have some very tight races for Governor, a Senate seat and a Congressional seat in my district. Plus there important ballot measurers on gun sense and for our local schools.

I hope you exercised your right to vote today, or will find a time to do so later this afternoon! Happy Election Day, everyone!

WhatIWore: Happy Monday morning everyone! I’m doing this post day of, so it’s what I’m still wearing right now! My sitter has a well deserved day off after Dance Marathon this weekend (they raised over $4.1 million for Riley Children’s Hospital!) so I have Felix with me as I go about my morning!

This is the kind of outfit I’d usually save for when I don’t have a little one with me… and I was reminded of that while I was wrestling with him to get into his carseat after going the coffee shop. Capes aren’t especially kid friendly… unless perhaps you have a newborn in a carrier and you’d like a nursing cover. I’ll switch to a different jacket this afternoon, but I do like the way this outfit came together. Below I’ve tracked down some new and vintage options in case you’re on the hunt for one yourself!

Speaking of coming together, I’d be remiss if I didn’t urge everyone to get to your polls tomorrow! This is a historic election… don’t stand on the sidelines without contributing your voice!

When: November 7, 2016

What:
Shades: Karen Walker ‘Super Duper Strength’
Turtleneck: J.Crew
Long Sleeve Striped Tee: Old Navy (maternity)
Cape: Vintage
Jeans: AG, a gift of A Pea in the Pod (regular sizes here)
Over the Knee Boots: gift of Rockport from last fall

Where: Coffee shop, later to the grocery and other errands!

See Also: More ways I’ve worn this vintage cape here, here and here!

One last thing - my dark skinny jeans were in the wash, so I actually wore flares under these boots! I cuffed and then sort of wrapped them around my calves, which worked just fine. As long as the thigh of your jeans is fitted, any leg opening should work with this kind of boot.
