What I Wore on Instagram

WhatIWore: A few weeks ago I started pinning images of leather moto jackets layered over chunky knits and this morning I finally put together the combo for myself (see my inspiration board here!) To keep bulk down, I chose a sleeveless sweater, but if I’m being completely honest, I don’t have that many sweaters that are long enough to adequately cover the baby bump so this one won out! You can see other ways I’ve worn it at my regular size here and here

On bottom I kept the look a little more edgy (relative to me?) with a ripped and patched pair of maternity jeans and added in a stacked and buckled pair of black boots.

What I Wore on Instagram

WhatIWore: After a nice week hanging out in the woods with family, I’m glad to be back to my normal routine. Although not sure Felix got the memo as I was up with him multiple times last night and then before sunrise this morning. ZzZzzz.

I packed very lightly for our trip and wore Adam’s flannel and maternity jeans almost every day. After a week of woodsy attire (see here and here), I wanted to do a 180 and get properly dressed up this morning. This black printed number is one of my maternity favorites. Like last time, I styled it with over the knee boots, but needed an outer layer for warmth. I grabbed this vintage cape (also worn here)  just to see if it would work. I like it!

One trend I wish I could embrace right now are short skirts and matching jackets of the same length. Today’s look is just about as close as I can get for now! J.Crew just put out one such set (this jacket + this skirt!) and it has such an awesome 60s mod vibe. I hope the look continues into spring so I can embrace it after pregnancy! Perhaps I can find a vintage version but if not, I’ll probably stitch one myself?

What I Wore on Instagram

WhatIWore: Hey guys! Check it out! I’ve figured out a way to finally display my small collection of patches. Earlier this week I showed you my inspiration board of ideas and now here it is!

I chose my two favorite patches for the front of the jacket but sewed most of them to the back. I spaced them out into different groupings, because I hope I’ll add many many more in the years to come! Instead of ironing them on, I’ve hand sewed them to allow for adjustments in the future. I still have quiet a few to go… but my poor little fingers were just too sore to keep sewing. For now, I love the way it looks!

The rest of my outfit is on the cozy/neutral - very similar to this outfit from a few weeks back!

What:
Jacket: Old - patches from my collection!
Sweater: Destination Maternity
Jeans: Jeans: AG ‘Stilt’, (non maternity here)

What I Wore on Instagram

WhatIWore: Nothing says outdoorsy to me more than a plaid flannel shirt (or anything plaid for that matter!) I borrowed this button down from Adam and layered it over a long sleeve black tee and black jeans. I’ve worn men’s button downs many times in the past and have been asked what the difference is between them and women’s styles. In short - they button on opposite sides and women’s versions usually have darts tailored around the curve of the body. Since I’m doing a more casual style outfit (and spending the day mainly outside!) I like the looser look of the men’s style. See also: baby bump! I’m in my third trimester! I cannot believe it!
