What I Wore | Christmas Plaid

         

WhatIWore: I really can’t get enough of wearing this scarf this season (see other OOTDs here, here and here)! It’s soft and cozy, but what I really love is the traditional buffalo check plaid. I was just thinking today if I could buy up loads of these on clearance at the end of the season, I’d make a bunch of throw pillows to decorate with from December-February (let me know if you spot an amazing deal!)

Every time I go to wear this boots, I make a point of pairing them with something on the conservative side. I’ve played around with skirts and I think it’d work in the evening with an oversized sweater, but not a daytime mommy kind of outfit in my small Midwestern town. Worn here with a longer sweater (for a little more tush coverage) and plaid button down here, I think they look great!

What I Wore | Holiday Brights

         

WhatIWore: Good morning! It’s officially Christmastime, right!? We’ve got a gloomy morning on our hands, but this is kind of a fun outfit to brighten up my day. I’m always up for pattern mixing and I really like how the stripes of my Pendleton wool coat go with that buffalo check scarf. It’ll warm up today but it’s a cozy start to the morning. 

Also worth mentioning - this sweater. When I opened the box I thought blegh! return! but this morning I tried it on and I absolutely love the texture and fit. It’s a little longer and the sleeves are nice and slim (Sorry you can see it under the coat). Anyway, it’s a winner (I also bought it in red, so yay!)

What I Wore | Check Mate

         

WhatIWore: Yesterday I showed you my inspiration board for this look and today - here it is. Really - such a simple outfit (turtleneck, denim jacket and black jeans, but made kind of festive fun with the addition of the buffalo check scarf. With second day hair I threw on my current favorite hat (similar available in my etsy shop!), a pair of glamourous shades and my classic red lipstick of choice.  Felix and I ran errands - pie supplies at the market for Thanksgiving and red poinsettas for my fireplace mantle and then swung by Adam’s work to snap these photos! I’m really excited for this week!

Inspired By | Buffalo Plaid + Stripes

WhatIWore: A pop of color is always something that makes me happy and I’ve been looking up ideas on how to wear my newish buffalo plaid . It’s such a perfect weave for this time of year. I went out looking for fabric by the yard to make pillows yesterday (with no luck) so I threw on my scarf today to get in the spirit.
