What I Wore | Friendsgiving
/WhatIWore: Having a baby really makes you count your blessings and this year, I am especially grateful for our circle of friends here in Bloomington. We had so many meals delivered, errands run and special visits at the hospital and at home. It really blew me away how generous people could be (and also a big lesson in slowing down and letting other people help you!) So last weekend I was really excited to get together with our crew for Friendsgiving. The food was awesome but the company was the best part!

A moment of honesty - taking outfit photos is 100x more cumbersome with a little one in tow. We have to bundle up the baby and either get him into the Ergo or his carseat, get him calmed down and then rapid fire to get enough shots to edit. Luckily we had our routine down to a few minutes before Felix was born, so once we’re set up, we can usually bang things out quickly. But sometimes… Felix is just not having it and doesn’t want to be in his carseat at papa’s feet… like in these photos. I was like Forget It! Let me just hold him! and I actually like the pics with him in them better than when I’m solo.
As for the outfit, I’m basically living in three different chunky turtleneck sweaters this fall. They’re so easy to layer over a v-neck for easy nursing access. Instead of my normal black or denim skinny jeans, I decided to dress it up a bit with a short flared skirt (also, hello stretchy knit, a Thanksgiving must!). The silhouette is kind of new for me. It’s roomy and not necessarily the most slimming look, but whatever, let’s be real. I just had a baby and looking super thin isn’t that important to me anymore. I did, however, feel really good in this outfit!
