WhatIWore: You know how you have some pieces in your closet that you just love;to wear? This dress always makes me feel so good when I put it on. It’s got some happy memories tied to it too. I wore it at 35 weeks pregnant, then for one of my first outings after Felix was born. It’s a non maternity style from Free People and they seem to keep adding more color combos seasonly (I also have it in blue). Last year I rocked it in a little more of a whimsical way but this Saturday, I layered it up. It ended up being really chilly outside and I later changed into jeans, a sweater, jacket and boots!

When: May 14, 2016

What:
Hat: Stars + Field (my lil hat company)
Jacket: Old Navy (older style)
Dress: Free People
Necklace: Self Made
Sandals: gift courtesy of Clark’s from last summer

Where: Out to breakfast with Adam

I really like all of the elements of this outfit - from my self made hat, down to my trusty sandals and olive green jacket. I especially like the little bee necklace I made (and by made, I mean put a charm I found on the chain of another necklace). I picked it up a day or two after I wrote that Bee Inspiration post, which felt like a nice coincidence!;

My Newest Accessory | Bee Tattoo

Bee Tattoo, #beetattoo, Honey Bee Tattoo

WhatIWore: I have some big news to share! Last week I got my first tattoo! I’ve been wanting to do this design for over a year, but after getting on a long waiting list, I found out I was pregnant and I just now got back in line for this piece!  The beautiful and talented Amanda Leadman created this design and did the tattooing. I sent her a handful of photos with my main inspiration being a textbook style drawing of a honey bee. I also sent along images of cool shading, placement and size and just let her do her thing, She did SUCH a beautiful job and I love it so much!

And for those of you wondering about the pain, I’m gonna rank getting a tattoo below getting your teeth cleaned in terms of the hurt. I mean, it’s not painless, but it’s also not natural childbirth. Honestly, I think a sunburn hurts more. Maybe Amanda just has a gentle touch? Or maybe it’s the placement of it? Or women are goddesses and have insane pain tolerances? I’d say it’s mildly uncomfortable at best!  It’s already healing up nicely (the top photo was from about 6 hours after it was finished.)
